Image: The UGA Stat department is delighted to announce the hiring of both Dr. Jinae Lee, the new Associate Director of the Statistical Consulting Center, and Rongjie Liu, our newest Assistant Professor. Before Dr Lee joined our department, she conducted vaccine-related research by leading clinical trial projects within the Biostatistics and Data Management Department at the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), a United Nations-affiliated NGO dedicated to promoting global health through vaccine research. Dr Lee is also an Alumni of the program, having gotten her Ph.D. in Statistics with the University of Georgia in 2013. Dr Liu got her Ph.D. in Statistics from Rice University in 2020, and holds interests in research relating to: Bayesian Statistics Machine Learning/ Deep Learning/ Reinforcement Learning Image Data Analysis Causal Inference Applications in Neuroimage and Engineering We're beyond excited to have them both joining the department and offering their unique expertise to our Stat students.
