The Department of Statistics offers a Master of Science (MS) degree in Statistics, a Master of Science (MS) degree in Data Science and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Statistics. Each degree emphasizes BOTH theory AND applications, because a good statistician must have training in both.
